The method of teaching the Quran seems jumbled and haphazard. Kids learn larger suras before they have completely mastered the smaller suras. I feel that quality is more important than quantity and for Quran, kids should be organized according to level of ability and not their grade in the school
The grounds are nice and so are some of the staff, although others of the staff seem to have the same attitudes as the mosque from which it came (Madina Mosque in Windsor).
Little kids are required to sit through a long juma at the school even though they are not religiously required to for a reason. They will associate the religion with boredom and having to sit still a long time without understanding the khutba.
Madina Academy is an amazing full-time Islamic school in Connecticut. The students have proper manners towards each other and their teachers. The teachers are amazing. They are able to teach while at the same time keeping the students entertained. The school is properly managed and provides all of the students' necessities. Inside the school is a musallah in which students, teachers, and parents can pray at any given time. The musallah also hosts weekly Jumah prayer.
